About Me:

Hello! My name is Mόnica Gutiérrez. I grew up in Puerto Rico. I have a Master’s
in Education and Curriculum from San José State University. This is my first
year teaching at Garfield Community School and my first year teaching fifth
grade. I have chosen to be part of the GCS because the students here are
inquisitive, resilient, and they make me laugh everyday. In our classroom, I
plan to create a proud community of bilingual learners, aware of their value as
global citizens.
